We recently upgraded to 5.8.5, but would’ve have jumped to 6.0 if we hadn’t been so far into our testing cycle with 5.8.5. There are alot of nice new bells & whistles in 6.0, so if you are just looking into upgrading, I would consider looking at going straight to 6.0.
My $.02 worth.
FYI – We are running AIX, so I’m not sure if there is any downside with Windows (other than it’s Windows).
We were planning to upgrade to 5.8.5 but are going straight to 6.0. I heard about it at last year’s Infor. Then they had demos at the road show in Chicago that a colleague and I attended.
We have had it installed on our test box since it was released but other projects have kept us from actually testing it. Soon, hopefully.
Oh, yes. We will be running it on Win Server 2008. 64-bit, I think.
We have a lot of clients on 6.0 on Windows and on other platforms. There are no major issues to my knowledge. The database protocol is a new feature with improvements coming soon. The BOX feature is awesome.
