AIX platform.  Dual ‘root’ install of CL 5.7 – patch 2 and 6.0

On 5.7, we have the odbc connection used to access external databases.

The configuration is in the /lib/Connect5.3 directory in the file odbc.ini

I do not see any Connect*.* in the 6.0 lib/ directory.  Does this new install use something different?

      Thanks.

      Mike C.

          Mike,

I just looked at that briefly last week and I saw what I expected (don’t recall the details and I do not have access to that platform right now).

Did you install Data Intgrator? I know a stupid question but if not, might explain why it is not there.

            😳

            Knew there was something missing…

Installed that and will resume testing.

the odbc.ini file delivered with the 6.0 install refers to SQL Server Wire Protocol, where the 5.8 odbc.ini refers to SQLServer Wire Protocol. Yes there is a space between SQL and Server. This stopped our production implementation of 6.0 until I found it. You can take the space out in the header and the protocol section name, or you can add another header entry without the space but having the same value.

                Peter,

What issue exactly did you experience before adjusting the odbc.ini file?

                Thanks

The connect failed; the preceding statements allocating handles and setting timeouts succeeded.
