When starting a Cloverleaf 6 process for the first time, I see this error in the process log and also from the monitor process (which fails to start):

      Quote:

      Starting process test1 at Thu Jan 31 14:59:20 2013

      Started by hci, uid [1001,1001], gid [1 1,1 1]

      running /hci/cis6.0/integrator/bin/hcienginewatch -S helloworld -p test1 —

      running /hci/cis6.0/integrator/bin/hciengine -S helloworld -p test1

error getting CPU info: Invalid argument

      top: can’t get CPU totals

      : Invalid argument

When I run ‘top’ from the command line I get the same error. When I run the ‘top’ command from the 5.8 version/directory, it runs fine. Is there something wrong with my PATH?

I installed Cloverleaf 6 on AIX 6.1 in an existing parent directory that also has 5.8 installed, which is part of an HACMP Prod-Test configuration. The Clvoerleaf 6 install is not part of HA.

I’ve run setroot and setsite. I’ve opened a ticket with Infor but thought someone would figure out that I’ve missed something.

          Peter,

Did you ever this this resolved?  I’m getting the same issue with our 6.0 upgrade.

Sorry, I thought I posted this reply on Friday.

Yes the problem was that I didn’t read the install doc closely enough – the requirements for AIX are 6.1.6, and we are on 6.1.2.

When we get the tl update, I’ll let you know how it goes.

I installed cloverleaf 6.0 under AIX 6.1 TL7 SP5 and the version of top that came with Cloverleaf 6.0 runs okay in an xterm from what I can see.

I have yet to get a license, so I’m not far enough along to start a process.

Thought this might give you some hope while you wait to get your OS up to the required level.

thanks, yes, that sounds good. I cannot even start the monitor daemon now.

Our level is AIX 6.1, TL 6, SP7.

When I launch the monitor daemon it get the TOP error.

I don’t have the GUI installed on a PC yet, but I’m able to start the monitor daemon successfully from an xterm using the following back end command from the helloworld site that comes with the base install:

                    hcisitectl [code]hcisitectl

Update: we used a spare AIX 6.1 server and upgraded to TL 7 and installed Cloverleaf 6.0 and do not see this problem. We installed using the basic instructions, created two file threads in a single process, and were able to start the monitor and lock manager and the process without seeing this problem.

We will upgrade our Test server to TL 7 and try CL 6 there and I will post that result.

Interesting.  I have our 6.0 licensed now, and still can’t start the monitor daemon, or any threads.  Have a question out to Infor, but haven’t heard anything back yet.

Well I guess the final proof is when we apply TL 7 to our heavily used test server and try CL 6 there.

I created our license.dat file yesterday and was able to start cloverleaf 6.0 helloworld process and threads using the Win7 IDE client.

Our Cloverleaf server is running on AIX 6.1 TL7 SP5.

I have the license.dat applied and tried to start the monitor Daemon for the Helloworld site, and get the same error.

Still haven’t heard back from Infor support.   😥

Does top run outside of Cloverleaf without any trouble?

                                  Yes and no.

If I have the box set to run the 5.7 code, top works fine.

When I switch to 6.0 mode, that is when the error happens.

Next step is to uninstall 6.0, and reinstall it again and hope that clears it up.

                                  Here’s some info from R&D.

It does not matter whether the OS provides a

It appears the documentation on the Infor download site [as of noon CST March 7th] listed the AIX level at

                                    ‘AIX 6.1 TL6’

Evidently, the Technical Level needs to be 7

                                    My Infor support person stated:

“Speaking with Implementation (the guys that do all the customer installation) they confirmed that CL6.0 needs to be on AIX 6.1 TL7. Some did indicate there was a misprint on the release notes. “

I’ll update when we get that TL installed, and see how CL6.0 behaves at that time.
