Epic’s transciption interfaces only handle MDM messages. We’re like David, but we have both Epic and Nuance send plain text rather than RTF. If I recall correctly, Nuance will send ORU but will only accept MDM when you want to keep the documents in both systems in sync. This can get sticky when doctors dictate and then want to edit the text in their Epic InBasket.
Also an Epic site with same problem. However, for Radiology reports, Epic does accept RTF, just need special coding, perhaps an SU, etc., I forget the specifics. I do remember debating this with my Bridges support person, but unable to persuade them to accept my RTF Pathology reports from Cerner Pathnet.
