I went to a cloverelaf V6 road show in Houston, TX yesterday (11/9/2012).
We had a meeting after the road show and decided to stop our cloverleaf 5.8.5 upgrade in favor of doing an upgrade to the new Clovereaf 6.0.
I felt the V6 road show was worth the time and effort to go if you are able to go I would encourage you to do so.
For those that might not have a chance to go to a cloverleaf v6 road show here are some of the points I jotted down that caught my attention and helped sway me:
cloverleaf v6 looks like a significant historical point where customer feed back will be shaping the product more than ever before so being a part of such a pivotal movement is where you want to be to have an infomed voice
BOX (a way to created an integration snapshot and help migrate it from test to production even if the 2 sites are not identical)
JDBC as an option instead of ODBC (JDBC is not coupled to the version of cloverleaf like ODBC drivers are)
AIX 7.1 and AIX 6.1 will run cloverleaf version 6.0 and our systems admins want us to run on AIX 7.1 if possible.
translation stacking is new since cloverleaf 5.7 or higher but I look forward to that capability because we are currently on cloverleaf 5.6rev2
the starting directory is something like /cloverleaf inidcating the undesired politics of using a company name for a directory structure might be gone moving forward
global monitor 6.0 works with cloverleaf v6 and here are some features
– dashboard UPOC widget
– grahical netmonitor view
– message flow view
– SMAT search and message parsing
– message tracing
– message warehouse statistics
HL7 2.7 which we might need for one of our projects
any version of cloverleaf 5 can be upgrade directly to cloverleaf 6.0 without stepping thru any other versions (we will be upgrading from 5.6rev2 to 6.0)
cloverleaf 5 web service adapter is being sun setted
anyone going to training will be trained using the most currnet version of cloverleaf
cloverleaf 6 will also run on MS Windows 8
