We run the Cloverleaf IDE from our citrix servers, which run Windows 2008.  We have been running 5.7 no-patches this way for about 18 months without issue.

Today we installed Rev3 patch and I had to bypass the windows version checks in the install_patch.cmd file so that it would install.

Technically this is not supported, but since we have been running this way for so long without a problem, we plan on running it this way going forward.

Does anyone else out there run the client on Windows 2008, have you experienced any noticeable issues or problems ?

Our servers are being upgraded to 2008.  I ran into this message: “Client Only install type is not supported on Windows Server 2008.  Host Server and Client install type will be installed.”

We are working fine on Win Server 2003 and Citrix. Never saw any odd message we we ran patches.

So the install did indeed install server and client. Not going to use or activate Server.

I went to run the latest patch and received the same message as you.  Removed the windows check and it installed.

Just started testing. Will reply to this thread if I encounter anything else.  We are on 5.8 (5.8.4.0P with patch).

We’ve been running it with no issues since this topic was opened, so it works… just have to ignore the warning message on install
