It also runs well in “XP Mode”. This is a Win 7 downloadable option where you have a Windows Virtual PC running XP that hibernates and presents shortcuts on the Win start menu or desktop to the XP applications in the hibernated machine. It’s a little slow on the start but runs without any glitches at all.
We isntalled and ran successfully cloverleaf 5.6rev2 on Win 7 Enterprise (32 bit) with the Cloverleaf server running on AIX 5.3 until we upgraded to cloverleaf 6.0 on Win 7 with an AIX 6.1 server.
Here are a couple of URL’s that talk about what you will want to know:
To summarize here are the steps I used that worked for me:
Code:
1. copied the 5.6 client CD to the local hard drive
2. right clicked setup.exe and changed the compatibility mode to Vista SP2 and the privilege mode to run as an administrator.
3. right clicked setup.exe and ran as administrator, installation ran normally with no errors
4. manually copied the Rev 2 files to the local locations
5. set properties on IDE to compatibility mode Vista SP2.
6. In the 5.6 GUI…Options->Client Options->Advanced tab…enter -Duser.timezone=
As far as I know all of the Cloverleaf Implementers run the client on Windows 7 Professional. The client is then used to access Cloverleaf on many operating systems. The only “tweeks” required are the normal changes one would make for firewalls, advanced security, etc.
