      Good Afternoon,

Is there a “recommened” number of threads that should be attached to a process?  We are converting interface engines and have been putting all of our threads under one process name.  It was suggested to us that we only have 8-10 threads per process.  I am wondering if that is a Cloverleaf recommendation or best for performance or if it doesn’t really matter?

      Thanks

      Corey

I think it depends on our your volume and complexity of intergration.  We break out threads into mulitple process for performance reasons.

As Gary says: depends on volume, complexity, your hardware. I try not to put more than 12-15 threads in a process.

I got 30 in one of mine and working fine. However, I would not recommend that and we are looking at ways to minimize.

Some of the threads in that process are extremely low volume, and we do have 16Gb of memory on our box. Stopping/restarting process takes less than a minute.

Like I said, I would not recommend it.
