    Hi ,

I am running into errors on the mlp_tcp.pdl

we have a route which takes messages (they are about 30k) .i have a pdl-tcpip protocol on the inbound thread and these messages are routed and wriitten to the file system.

I see these errors in the log

[pdl :PDL :DBUG/0:     ce_tcpip:06/15/2012 12:35:26] multi: phrase #0 rejected; trying next

[pdl :PDL :ERR /0:     ce_tcpip:06/15/2012 12:35:26] no-match: no more phrases to try

    [pdl :PDL :DBUG/0:     ce_tcpip:06/15/2012 12:35:26] Calling Tcl procedure: read.error

[pdl :PDL :DBUG/0:     ce_tcpip:06/15/2012 12:35:26] with args: {{status error} {type no-match}} and then it stops processing any further messages.

These are fixed format messages and not HL7 and these messages are about 30k in length.

Please suggest how i can overcome this

Does the system that is sending these to you use the HL/7 MLP encapsulation?

If these are not HL/7 messages I would doubt that.

But if they do then someone needs to make sure the encapsulation set is not imbedded in the message as a part of the data (can happen with non-HL/7 messages).

If the message can contain the characters 13 34 15 (octal character) you may have issues with mlp.

you may want to change to tcpip which allows you to specify the message length at the start of the message rather than relying on the start/end characters form mlp.
