I am having some trouble with threads remaining in an “Up” state but having to cycle them constantly to get messages to flow.  My Host system is ConnectR.  My network guys are telling my that ConnectR is intitiating a conversation with PWIM but PWIM is failing to send a response.  I have a feeling that I do not have my inbound thread configured properly.  I am attaching a screen shot.

I am confused about the use of the “Outbound Only” check box in the inbound tab.

              Chuck,

The outbound only checkbox configures the thread so that if something comes into the thread when it is not awaiting a reply, it will ignore it.  Typically, without this checked, if a message comes into the thread (i.e. an ACK that came after the timeout period) the engine would assume it is inbound data and try to route it, which would then hit the error database.

              Hope this helps.

So I should have the “Outbound Only” checked on inbound threads,  is that correct?

                  Chuck,

No, you would only check the ‘outbound only’ for an outbound thread.
