frl version numbering

We currently store all of our FRL files in CVS and we are now looking at a way to add versioning to each file.

Ideally we would like to just add a comment with $Id$ to allow CVS to add in the version information.

I’ve found that if I add a comment in, then update the file with the GUI, the comment will disappear.

Does anyone know of a way to have a comment survive the GUI?
