    Hello,

I am trying to fetch materials management data (an XML file) from our ERP (Peoplesoft) system to integrate with Pyxis and Surginet using HTTP protocol. I have setup the http client protocol with following properties in NetConfig (see attachment). I have been told, I need to “open a port” to for Peoplesoft to POST this file?? I know Cloverleaf can act only as a http client, so what is this port that the vendor is asking for? Isn’t a http client with a http GET enough to fetch the file from Peoplesoft?

Anybody experienced with this http interfaces or peoplesoft interfaces, please let me know what your experience has been. Thanks!

We are on Cloverleaf 5.6  rev 2 on AIX 5.3

      Vidya,

I believe they are wanting you to act as a server.

Being this is a ‘file’ then maybe they can do FTP. That would be simpler.

In any case, you can create a server connection if you deploy a server (like Apache on UNIX) then write some scripting for that server and finally do some TclCurl coding on the Cloverleaf engine.

Or – you can get IHB a Cloverleaf Add-on which provides additional NetConfig configurations and most of the other stuff (including Apache) that you need. Some Tcl coding may still be necesary but it should be minimum.

Are they also using WSDL and SOAP Envelopes or staight HTTP?

Is this HTTP or HTTPS? If HTTPS you also need the secure socket license to open up SSL.

      Jim,

Thanks for your quick reply. I did think that they were wanting Cloverleaf to act as an server, but I did tell them there was no web server installed on our server. I am not sure Apache install is an option as we are integrating only two Peoplesoft interfaces thru Cloverleaf.

We may end up going with FTP option at the worst. No SOAP ot WDSL or HTTPS involved.

Could you tell me more about IHB add on, so I can see if that can be explored further to see if there is a will to get them.

      Thanks!

      Vidya
