I have just successfully loaded the 5.8 install on a Linux server.  However the patch is giving me an error when I try to install.

Here is the ERROR that I am getting when the patch runs:

      **************************************************

      Checking patch files… Done

      Backing up files… Done

Installing new files… cp: `bin/hciengine’ and `/quovadx/cis5.8/integrator/bin/hciengine’ are the same file

      Update /quovadx/cis5.8/integrator/bin/hciengine failed!

Failed to install CIS 5.8.3.0 patch!

You can find the original files in /quovadx/cis5.8/integrator/backupBefore3.0Patch.

      -bash-3.2$

I tried doing an uninstall and cleaning up and then doing the install over from the beginning and I get the same results.

Has anyone experience a similar problem?

Well believe it or not I found an second install script in a subfolder named REV3 and ran it this morning and got a successful install.  I was running the script

I’m having the same error message when I try to install 5.8.4 on my RHEL Linux test system. I don’t see any other patch install scripts. Anyone else encounter this problem?

Jonathan,  If you create a folder named REV3 and copy the release files (including the script) to the folder you will be able to run it from there.

Well, of course it has to be in a different directory.  That worked like a charm, thanks John. I was having what one of my co-workers refer to as a “senior moment”.
