I have alerts set up on threads and when I receive the email, the time and date are odd.  We are using the email function from Cloverleaf Alerts and sent to a group in outlook using exchange.

I tested this morning and the alert was created on 3/8/2011 8:24am.  The sent time on the email is 9/8/2011 9:24am.

Alerts that were created yesterday 3/7/2011 4:42pm.  The sent time on the email was 8/7/2011 5:42pm.

Seems odd to me and I have other examples if interested.

I also received 13 alerts from the threads after restarting a process, 4 of them looked fine (other than the date/time issue from above) and 9 of the alerts were blank, no subject and no body in the message.  Strangely enough, the date and time was correct on these messages.

          Hi Tim,

This sounds like the problem I was having.  The later versions of cloverleaf also uses the tcllib smtp libs.  Here is the link that hopefully will help.

After copying the file, what needs to be restarted?

I stopped and started the Monitor Daemon and still have the same issue.

It’s a tcl package so not I’m sure how to force a reload in the cloverleaf environment, although reindex might do it.  I installed it when we did a reboot.  But I did run a quick test on my system and just copying the file over and that did the job with out resetting anything.

What version of cloverleaf are you running?

Ok, that is the same version as we are on.  It could be the OS, what are you on.  I’m on an HP-UX 11.11 unix system. Do you have a test system you can try it on?

I did back out the change and run an e-mail alert and received the exact same date you did for today so I’m sure this fix should help you. I then copyied it back and the problem went away. I was able to trigger the alert without restarting, reload, or reindexing.

Other then verifying that the mime.tcl file copied over successfully to the tcllib1.8/mime directory, not sure where to go from here other then trying to bounce the site.

It worked that time.  It helps to put the fine in the correct directory!  And that was our test system.  There are no issues with copying that same file to our production?

                    Thanks for your help!

I’ve had this code running in production since Nov 17 2010 with no problems and I use the smtp package to send out 25 different custom reports a day, along with using it for alerting purposes.

I’ve never had any problems or complaints.  As always your miles may very but I feel comfortable with it. I put it through its passes on test for the month to make sure.  After the 11th of this month the dates will go back to normal so the users won’t notice anything again until April.

                      Hope that helps,
