      Hi All,

      I need to know how to archive my SMAT files. I there are a lot of scripts out there to do it, but I want to understand how to do it before I implement a script.

      Can someone tell me the steps to renaming the files and moving them?

          Here is something I got from the list a while ago from Good Samaritan Hospital Vicennes, IN.

            Thank you for your reply,

            So it looks like the first step is to move the old log files to a archive location. Do you shut dow the process, rename the files, then start the process back up in order to get the ‘old’ log files? Or is there something more? And if you have already moved the old log files, why do you cycle the logs after that?

              The cylcing creates the .old files.
