We have a request to take an IB Lab Result message and create 3 different OB messages. 1 A04, 1 A03 and 1 ORU. The reason for this is a problem with industrial account patients. Since the Industrial Account number is not unique we are having to create a unique ID and then these three OB messages. They have to be created in the order above A04, A03 and then the ORU. Has anyone done anything similar to this before? What would be the most efficient way to do this? In an Xlate using the continue function or tcl? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Eric

      Eric,

You may also consider taking the inbound message and route it three times to three separate Xlates in the order that you want (one for the A04, one for the A03, and one for the ORU). This would keep each Xlate simpler.

You would have to test and make sure the messages are getting to destination in the order that they are Xlated. If not, you probably can write a post Tcl script to slow down as necessary.

      That worked perfectly.
