Our lab system is occassionally sending out NTEs with .br imbedded in the text instead of creating a new NTE.  In other words, we sometimes get this:

      NTE|1|CD:60|Sufficiency = 30-100 ng/ml (75-250 nmol/L).brPossible Toxicity = Greater than 100 ng/ml (> 250 nmol/L).br\.brA pediatric reference range has not been established by .brthe National Osteoporosis Foundation.

      instead of this:

      NTE|1|CD:60|Sufficiency = 30-100 ng/ml (75-250 nmol/L) NTE|1|CD:60|Possible Toxicity = Greater than 100 ng/ml (> 250 nmol/L) NTE|1|CD:60|

NTE|1|CD:60|A pediatric reference range has not been established by

      NTE|1|CD:60|the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

I could swear I’ve seen a post that talks about this (creating a new NTE when .br is encountered) but I can’t find it now.  Whether it exists or not, does anyone have a tcl script or something to deal with this?

Change the br to ~.  Then you iterate based on the field.  Make sure you put the field variable in the correct path in the segment iteration.  If want to have setid in order, just use MATH ADD against your field variable.  Piece of cake  ðŸ˜€

Jim, Did you get this to work? I’m faced with the same problem and so far I can not get it to work. I would appreciate any help you are willing to share.  Thanks

I  hate to say this but I don’t remember.  I know I didn’t implement Gary’s suggestion but darned if I can recall what the outcome of this was.  I think we were trying to find a solution for it within Millennium and it kinda died on the vine.  Sorry…
