Finally get to upgrade to a version with Master Site.

So the main ADT system I want to create an HL7 Variant to use for multiple sites.

Easy enough create the HL7 variant in the Master site.

Here is the issue I create the variant with Z segments as necessary.

I test them in the master site they work all is good.

I go to my slave site. Build and Xlate it fails.  Try to test just HL7 format it fails telling me “Invalid Z segment reference”

Should I be able to do this ?

      What am I missing ?

          John,

A couple of quick questions.  What is the name of the HL7 variant in the master site?  Do you have an HL7 variant in the slave site with the same name as the Hl7 variant in the master site?   If so, the HL7 variant in the slave site will take precedence.   So, if the HL7 variant in the slave site has the same name but doesn’t have the Z segment built, then it will fail.

          Just something to check…

AT this time there are no variants in the slave sites.

The name of the variant is EPIC.

I guess you are telling based on your questions.

This can be done and it should be working ?

When you go to a command prompt and do a showroot does it give you the mastersite name?

If not you might have to stop the hostserver.  Also, ensure that in your gui client, the site is listed in the mastersite drop down in the root options.

Those where the only two problems I encountered.

                Very cool thank you.

It was setup in the gui as having the master site.

The command line did show the master site.

But I knew I had not restarted the host server. Did that and low and behold it is working.

                Thanks.
