Recently I installed cloverleaf 5.8 on Solaris 10. But every time I log off hci it stops host and security server. I have version 5.5 running on the same server with no issues with it.

Have anybody had a similar experience?

Cloverleaf support blames the problem on having host and security server installed on the same server!!!!! I had the same problem before installing security server.

      Thanks,

      SJ

          Do you use Exceed?

I’ve just posted the same kind of problem you’re having.

Now, that I am reading my unread posts I see your issue.

I too have experienced something similar when using EXCEED.  I added the following line to .profile for hci.

               unset DISPLAY

near the end of this file.

I did not have same issue in PuTTy.

              Hi,

we have encountered this behavior some time ago with some of our customers. We fixed this with the following steps:

              – On the server start the ‘Server Admin’ Tool

              – Go to the tab ‘advanced’

              – Enter ‘-Xrs’ (without quotes) at the JVM arguments part.

              – Press Save and close the tool.

To activate you’ll have to restart the host server.

              Dirk

Yes, I have the same problem with 5.8 version and I called Health vision

No I do not use security server, but I would still suspect Xwindows vs 5.8 as your problem.

Dirk, I already had -Xmx256m in the options.

I replaced the options with -Xrs and still had the issue.

Yes I use Exceed connecting to Solaris 10 server.

I just telnet-ed the server then stopped and then started host and the security server. Exited telnet and logged back to cloverleaf using Exceed, checked the host and security services “hciss” and noticed both of them were up and running.

So, I don’t have to have hci logged in to the server console all the time.

                    Thanks,

                    SJ

Techsupport has workaround. See the other post.
