I am sending data via ftp using the fileset-ftp protocol, but the recipients cannot access the files due to the permissions.

They have asked me to use the “quote SITE UMASK 000” command after the ftp connection has been made but before the file is sent.  However as the connection and sending process is all covered within the fileset-ftp protocol I don’t know how I can get it to run the extra command.

Do you know how this can be achieved?  I’m using version 5.4.1 on an AIX system.

      Many thanks

          Hi Andrew,

In my opinion this is not something that you need to solve with Cloverleaf!  Your admins should solve this problem by either giving the recipients the required permissions or giving the ftp-user (which is mentioned in your ftp-fileset protocol) the correct settings so the files are written with different/more permissions.

It could be that the ftp-user needs to have the UMASK command set in his .profile file. But that’s only my guess as a non-admin.

            Thanks Robert,

This was indeed resolved by the recipients changing the permissions on the ftp account thay had supplied.
