I have an alert that works if the thread goes to an opening status. What I would like to have is another alert that will tell me that the connection is now up. Can somebody help me out with this
Try touching your alert file vi cron every so often. I believe this has worked for others. Having the alert file doing this automatically would be a nice enhancement 😀
If you configure another alert that simply looks at the protocol status of “up” it will fire when the thread goes back to “up” after it went “opening”, since the status changed.
Like Gary suggests, we use touch within a cron job that runs hourly. That way any outstanding alerts will re-fire, and we’ll continue to get pages until the condition is cleared.
