I’ve posted this a while back, but since it is still happening, thought I’d ask again.  We have a production set of threads that, for some reason, just stops sending messages.  It involves one ADT-inbound thread, and 2 ADT outbound threads.  When this happens the ‘connection line’ [the line with the arrow showing the direction] displays yellow.  We have to stop the processes, and usually have to delete the ‘wpid’ file that doesn’t get cleaned up.

We are on 5.7 on and AIX box.  Any ideas???  I have alerts set up with a time threshold but it would be nice to avoid this if possible.

      Thanks.

Here are some ideas from our R&D dept.

There is a known error in 5.7, that was corrected in Rev 1, where the sending will stop. This will happen only if the engine goes idle so check the log. Also a clear indication that it is this error is to send some command to the engine. A bad one will do as it kicks the engine out of idle.

        Comment:

It is not clear that he has this problem but it sure sounds like it. The test is do some engine command to wake it up. If it starts running again for a while it is the error that was fixed.

The error is in the Tcp driver. If he is using the PDL-Tcp it is not the error.

        In summary, install 5.7Rev2.

Thanks Max for the reply.  We are in the process of getting another box to run our ‘test’ site on, and providing a backup for our production site.  So, we will apply the patch 2 at that time.

In the log, I see a LOT of these messages:  Is there a way to eliminate those from the log?

          Not to my knowledge.
