Not to get into a long store but we have sometimes in our GT1 that as * in the GT1_3 and GT1_21. We have just been removing the * but now the want us to delete the entire line. Here are screen shots that I have now. I’m trying to think of the best way to do this.
I see a tilde in GT1.3 but can’t tell if it is there in GT1.21. Are these repeating fields? Can you mock up some data to place in there to show us what you mean?
If it is repeating fields, you can probably just use the lvarpop to remove the line out of there.
One thing you may want to consider when removing the GT1 segment is the numbering of the Set ID’s for each segment. The downstream application(s) in question may use this (or GT1.15) to consider the priority for each of the Guarantors. If this is the case, you may need to renumber your guarantor segments when sending the message outbound.
