Is it me or does everyone else experience this:

When I search on the CloverTech forums, I never get a good listing.  For example, I search for “Basic Security” and the first ten hits are utterly useless.  BTW, I tried all the options (use one word or all words).

I guess this is not high on my complaint list as I like the CloverTech forums and the info that both HealthVision and the other users provide.

When I am looking for stuff in a hurry, I can never seem to get a good hit for any search term that I use.

I would appreciate any info or pointers.

      Thanks,

Hint #1, don’t double post. Now when someone searches for ‘basic security’, your two posts show up first. 😀

I search by typing in my search terms and then choosing the ‘Search for all terms’ check box.

        Here’s what I see …

You can further narrow your search by picking a forum, telling it to search only titles, etc. From my experience, the Clovertech search works the same as every other forum I’ve been a part of. If you can’t find what you need on Clovertech try posting a new thread with your question or send an email to techsupport@healthvision.com. Those guys and gals are amazing!

          Thanks Max!

Their techsupport has always been amazing.  I have called them at odd hours in the night and they have gotten back to me in less than 30 minutes.

It is nice to talk to a real person in this day and age of IVR (interactive voice response) systems.

It still doesn’t address the fact that the search feature, while it may be working as designed, could use some enhancement.   If I were to type in “Basic Security”, it will give me all listings with either of those words in the posts.

It would be nice (and I think this was asked for at the users conference), if the Clovertech search could act more like Google search.  That way you could type in “Basic Security” as a phrase and get those posts listed first that match the exact phrase.

We are working on updating the forum software to the lastest version. That feature may have been added. I’ll check asap and let you know.

Max I too have found the clovertech search capability sub par at best.

In addition to not having any luck at serching multiple words, I’ve found clovertech search is allergic to certain characters like underscores.

It would also be nice to allow the output of one search be used as the input to another search.

Granted I might not know how to completely use clovertech search effectively but I don’t seem to be able to get at things all that easy if at all when using the clovertech search.

It would be helpful to start if I could type in any string of any characters and have it find them like you can do in a typical text editor.
