In the 14 years I’ve worked with Cloverleaf I’ve never seemed to get this to work correctly.

I need to promote a test site to production. Normally I just add a thread as needed to existing production but this time we are promoting a pretty heavy project.

I know in theory that I should be able to “save as” my test area NetConfig and then use that copy in prod. My experience is that the view file gets out of sync and I have a mess on my hands every time I’ve tried this.

      I’m on 5.4.1 btw.

Even when I’ve tried to copy the view file, it didn’t seem to work right.

Can someone give me step by step instructions on doing this?

I’m good with moving the rest, tclprocs, variants, etc.

I just need help with the NetConfig and View file.

      Thanks in advance.

Maybe this will help a little. When we add new threads, systems etc…we make a copy of the NetConfig to something like NetConfig.jkc20100126 and the copy the NetConfig to NetConfig.new. In the NetConfign.new is where we do all our work, new threads and whatever and when we are done, we will save and save the view. Then shut down all threads and process for that site and copy the NetConfig.new to NetConfig and then bring up NetMonitor. I believe if you dont shut down the processes and threads in NetMonitor then it can get messy. And the NetConfig.jkc20100126 backup is just a little extra precaution. This is how we do it, right or not it works very well for us. Hope this helps.
