      In my xlate, I am using this OBX line to create and NTE line, and now I would like to completely remove the line.  I have been able to remove the data fields, but the OBX still comes out in the message.

      Any help would be greatly appreciated

          I’m assuming that your OBX’s look like this before you copy to the NTE:

          OBX|4|TX|M3-5688^Deep Wound Culture^UHHG^M3-5688|1|Escherichia coli||||||F

          OBX|4|L|Moderate

          I’m also assuming your are iterating over you OBX’s.  If that is the case, you should be able to simply perform a PATHCOPY and copy @null to that particular iteration of the OBX after you copy it to the NTE.

          Can you post some of your code so we can see how it is being handled now?

              It appears what you want to do is to changeany OBX with certain condition(s) to an NTE.

              If that is what you want to accomplish, then you will need to use your own managed iteration counters for the outbound OBX and  perhaps NTE (you would continue to use the iteration counters you set up in the ITERATES for the OBR and OBX inbound).

              Are you familiar with how to manage your own iteration counters (ones not sepcified in the ITERATE)?

              Are you familiar with what I described regarding changing an OBX to an NTE?
