We have messages in our ‘production’ error database that we have copied into a file.  Is there a way, similar to the ‘SMAT’ replay that we can send these message through the process?

We are on AIX – version 5.7

      Thanks.

You can resend them from network monitor.    Right click the thread and go to full, resend.

Thanks for that tip.  I’ll give it a try.  Another noob question, would I select the data or replay button?  Not sure what the differences are for those.

Most likely these mesages are data but they could be replies – only you can know that for sure.

If they are data then select data, if they are replies then select reply (typically the reply are your acknowledgments – but not always).

Also, you might want to make sure whether you want these resent as pre or post inbound or outbound Tps. That could make a difference as to the success of the resend or the behavior inside Cloverleaf(R).

If these are outbound messages then you probably want to send them as data (if they are data) to the Outbound side of the Outbound thread. If these are inbound messages, then you probably want to send them to the Inbound side of an Inbound thread.

Now how do you know whether they should be sent Pre or Post Tps?

Thanks all for the great info.  I’m learning as we go.  Only question I have is, when I created the file from the error database messages, all of the MSH segments have a 10 digit number before them, perhaps the message ID?  Is there a way to save the messages without that added information?

Or do we need to do a tcl proc to remove those?

That is the len10 (Length encoding).  Those numbers are not sent outbound.  I believe the other option is NL when saving from the error database.

                      Problem solved.  Thanks again.

And people wonder why we are moving from our current eGate engine to Cloverleaf.  This forum is one of the big reasons.  Plus the customer support with Cloverleaf is so much better.

Keep in mind when extracting messages from the recovery database to a file it will not be in chronological order unless you specify one of the these hcidbdump args:

                          [code]
