We’re planning on upgrading our server from HPUX 11 with Cloverleaf 5.5 to a Linux box. We have 150 threads in 15 processes split across 6 sites, this is mirrored in our test sites. We handle about 1.5 million messages a day, and want to have room for at least 100-150% growth with the new server.

I would like to know of any pros or cons of the switch, and if it would run happily.

      Thanks for your input.

You will NEVER regret switching to RedHat Linux. The cost savings alone are enormous. The OS is as stable as anything else out there. There are tons of out-of-the-box, non-proprietary tools included like all of the gnu tools. And what isn’t there already, is easy to install on RedHat. RedHat is an absolute dream to work with.
