      Hi,

Is there a limitation on the size of file that the SMAT utility will load?

If there is, Is it possible to split the SMAT files up into smaller chunks?

      Regards,

      Jason

          Jason,

It is possible to split the SMAT file into smaller chunks but it would need to be done through a tcl proc.   We have a proc here that goes through each site and cycles the SMAT files either once or twice a day, depending on volume.

The command to cycle a SMAT file is:

          hcicmd -p -c ” save_cyle “

          is process name

          is thread name

is either an inbound smat file or outbound smat file.  The two arguments would be simply in or out.

            Hi Jason,

I’ve got some routines that may help. I’ve got a modified version of James Cobane’s convert_smat that maybe useful to you. This converts a SMAT to a newline terminated file that can be edited/searched in a text editor. I’ve also got some scripts that cycle SMAT that can be run as scheduled tasks.

Email me if these are useful to you.

            Garry
