Is there a topic already going that covers audit logs? We would like to be able to check on activities like, who turned on and off a process, or who modified a translation file, are there already a system log file that captures that information or do we need to do some system configuration in order to get this kind of information?

We are running version 5.3 on a windows 2003 server.

          Robert,

As far as modifications (through the IDE only) to configuration files (with the exception of formats I think) there is trhe Revisions directory which may be of help – but only potentially if each user has their own logon id.

As far as Netmonitor activity (starting/stopping thread, processes, etc.) I do not know of any built in function nor of any information on which one could rely to indirectly derive that result.

Of course the Process log can contain a lot of that information if you turn up the ‘noise’ level – but what price are you willing to pay?

Cloverleaf(R) typically is such a closed system (meaning so few have access) that generally there is little concern regarding who did what when to any great detail.

Robert – the Cloverleaf Advanced Security add-on has an audit log that will provide all this information.  If you are interested in more detail, shoot me an email and I will have someone contact you.
