Hi,

I am getting the below message when trying to run HCIDBDUMP.

I get the same if I try to look at the error database with -e

The site does seem to be running OK, and messages are passing in and out.

I have tried a HCIDBINIT -AC (The site is not yet live so no risks), and this has no effect.

Server version 5.3P, on windows 2003, logged on as administrator.

      thanks

      neil

The short answer is that the Vista database can’t create a semaphore.

Periodically we have questions on CloverTech asking what the Db_Vista database error numbers indicate. You can see the entire list by going to <a href="http://www.raima.com/docs/rdme/9_0/” class=”bbcode_url”>http://www.raima.com/docs/rdme/9_0/ and selecting Reference Manual > Return Codes.

            Thanks Chris.

I got round the problem by stopping the process before dumping the database. Not perfect, but it gives me a workround. I’ll take a look at the site you suggest.

              Neil,

When I had a semaphore issue on unix it was a resource issue. The fact that it went away when you stopped the process would seem to point in the same direction. Have you tried to look at the event view to see if there are any error’s or warnings around the time you execute the command. Not being a windows guru, the only thing I can think to look at would be your memory and page file usage.

              Hope this helps,
