      Given the situation below, is there a simple way to skip the first DG1 iteration and only send the remaining DG1 segments (2-6)?

      DG1|1|FF||NUMBNESS IN ARMS||A|||||||||0|||||||||||

      DG1|2|I9|451.82|PHLBTS SPRFC VN UP EXTRM||AM||||||||||||||||||||

      DG1|3|I9|451.82|PHLBTS SPRFC VN UP EXTRM||F|||||||||1|||||||||||

      DG1|4|I9|305.1|TOBACCO USE DISORDER||F|||||||||2|||||||||||

      DG1|5|FF||NUMBNESS IN ARMS||W|||||||||1|||||||||||

      DG1|6|FF||||W||301|||||0.00|||||||||||||

      We are a Star to Cerner shop and Cerner stops reading DG1s if the first iteration is not an ICD9 code.  I want to just tell them to just change their code, but I thought I would check with everyone out here for ideas first as I haven’t been able to come up with much.

      Thanks in advance.

          Jared,

          the easiest way to do this without programming is doing that in a xlt. Just iterate over all DG1 segments and check with an if action for the segment counter in the field ‘segment id’ or the iteration value ($%s1) for example. If it is not what you want, just don’t copy anything. You could also check for the catalog and suppress everything which is not I9.

          Greetings,

          Dirk
