Cloverleaf 5.6 on RedHat 5.2

Tech support tells me that Cloverleaf 5.6 is not qualified for RedHat 5.2. Unfortunately, 5.2 is what we purchased and installed. Everything seems to be working fine except that tcp/ip to tcp/ip connections cause a core dump. Does anyone out there have this same setup? Any ideas on how to get my issue fixed?

Lesson learned!  Always check Release Notes prior to upgrading an OS

        😛

Seriously, Redhad 5.2 is not even supported at the current time with Cloverleaf 5.7.  From the 5.7 release notes:

        Cloverleaf

I’ll get my OS guys to drop us down to 5.0. But, for the record, I think something’s broken in Cloverleaf 5.6 on RedHat 5.2.

Since it is not qualified on Redhat 5.2, I am not surprised

We’ve been battling 5.2 all year.  On our last rebuild we set out to stay on Red Hat 5.0 by avoiding any kernel updates.  Turns out that ANY Red Hat critical updates can update the server version (that’s according to Red Hat support).

As a result, we probably won’t be taking ANY updates to our Red Hat servers.

Moral of the story – If you’re going to use Red Hat 5 – Don’t take any updates!
