Is it possible to build our threads in one site for testing and copy to them to our production site when they are ready to go live?

        Yes …

You may want to look into taking a Cloverleaf class.

Maybe I’m missing something.  I understand you can copy a NetConfig and move it to the production server, but to my knowledge you can’t copy individual threads….or did I fall asleep during the Cloverleaf class?

          Thanks…

Oh, did you mean copy the objects? If so, my apologies, that can not be done to my knowledge. I was thinking he meant copy the files.

So here is what I do:

            * copy the Xlates and Tables from test to production

            * copy used tclprocs to production

            * test (!) the Xlates in production to see whether i have missed som tables or tclprocs (old and wise…)

            * then recreate the threads in NetConfig, using test as a template

If there are better/easier ways of doing this: please tell me!

I have taken the first class with McKesson and we didn’t go over this, that I remember.  Which class is this in?

You can’t copy threads from one site to another.

You will have to create the thread in you production environment then.

You can copy translations tables, tcl procs and supporting files to and from your different sites.  I do this all the time with a simple copy command.

I image if you are on windows you could do this with explorer. But I have not worked much with windows boxes.

So I would recommend a manual creation using what ever control and documentation you wish for the netconfig stuff. But coping the supporting files from site to site.
