GUI start/stop problem

We’re unable to start/stop threads/processes in our Windows 5.5 GUI environment.

This error is showing up in our sites’ hcimonitord.err files:

I’ve cleaned up some references in the default.alrt file that were pointing to our previous 5.3 root directory, bounced the monitor daemon, but now get this process log error message in addition to the above error messages:

Unable to register TclNotifier window class

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application’s support team for more information.

The process seems to start but no threads will start (from the GUI).

Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions that might clear this up.
