      …does it lock/enqueue the counter file during the ctr file increment.

      or do we need to lock the file application-wise?

          Robert,

          I do not know the answer but I don’t use the same counter file for different Interfaces/Integrations so there should not be any collision potential.

            The Ctr* commands will lock the counter file if they need write access.

              Thanks guys…..saved me some research. I have a number of threads coming together (writing their data to a common directory) and want the counter to be the highorder/dominant part of the file name.  ie 10000001vendora   100000002vendorb 100000003vendora 100000004vendord….and so on….so that the events stay in real-life sequence before picked up
