We are running out of space on /hci, and before I go ahead and add more, I wanted to know if anyone knows what Cloverleaf stores in /hci/root3.8.1P/temp?  All of the files begin are tmp*.

      Any assistance would be appreciated.

      Thanks,

My system has nothing in the directory. I really have no idea what is in it.

Maybe if you delete all files older the 7 days.

SMAT places temporary files here.  As far as I know, they can be deleted if no one has SMAT open.

When I first took this position I was told that when SMAT runs it creates a tmp file in that directory and that those files should be removed on a monthly basis.

If I remember correctly from our old CL5.2, a tmp* file was created in $HCIROOT/temp while resending messages from SMAT. We had a weekly job that removed all these tmp* files.

Just checked in CL 5.5: no files in $HCIROOT/temp. These tmp* files are now removed after resending from SMAT.

Another energetic programmer took some samples for testing using SMAT.  This did not cause the great amount of storage in the /hci, but was the straw that broke its back.  There were files dating back several years, so after one quick rm *, I love wild card deletes as root 😈, there are now 2 more GB of free space in /hci!

                  Thanks to all,
