The Xlate and Table GUI’s will not work telnetted into an AIX Server.

I received this email from support.

Is anyone else able to use the IDE using a telnet session into an AIX server, with CL V5.5?

Hi Amy, regards to your question,

Are you/they saying they no longer support the hciaccess command when it is run on a UNIX server?

Yes, starting from Cloverleaf version 5.3P.

      thanks,

      Chance

      Chance,

Are you/they saying they no longer support the hciaccess command when it is run on a UNIX server?   That is what we are doing.   We are NOT using a client to bring up the GUIs.   We are telneting directly to the UNIX server that the Cloverleaf engine resides on and bringing the GUIs up there.

      Amy

Hi Amy, I forwarded this issue to our R&D department and here’s the response that I’ve got from them:

“We do not officially support running IDE on any Unix platforms”

          Tim,

You can run the IDE within an X-windows session, not telnet; telnet is a pure text display.   While you can do this, I don’t know if I would recommend it; I don’t think it runs any faster than running the client on your workstation.

          Hope this helps.
