Interfaces Panic while Testing 5.4 for upgrade

Hi All,

Last night all our Interfaces Paniced and crashed. We were able to restart them after some cleanup.  Our syslog indicated the a vmunix : file : table was full.

We are running 3.8.1 on HPUX 11.11 . We are upgrade currently to 5.4

We have 3 Live sites and 3 Test sites. While Testing 5.4 we stop all 3.8.1

Test sites. So still having 6 sites running.

We are speculating we have reached maximum files open. We are looking

at the UNIX

nfile

and

ninode

kernel parameters.

Our current nfile parameter is set to 6272.

Is there a recommendation when upgrading to increase this value. ?

Anyone experience this type of problem. ?
