HL7 to frl?

I am trying to create a xlate that creates a frl from an hl7.

  What does the Flat Record Layout look like?
  
  I would setup fields like :
  
  field_0
  
  field_1
  
  etc.
  
  Then a standard segment iteration over the FT1 and do something like:
  
  copy FT1(%s1).#1 -> field_%s1
