Does anyone have experience with the Phillips nursing monitor system?  They have a central server that is supposed to send real time results to Cloverleaf, however they have indicated that Cloverleaf is supposed to initiate the connection, like a query of sorts, before their server will send a message.  This is not something I am familiar with and don’t even know if Cloverleaf can do it or how, any thoughts from anyone?

    Thank you all,

      Jason,

They might just mean that Cloverleaf(R) has to be a client (rather than server) to receive the messages. There are a number of systems which set up al of there connections as servers (meaning they are listening for a connection) even if they are sending data. That would simply mean configuring the thread as a client and handle inbound messages as if it were configured as a server. It really is not a terribly big issue but has just enough difference to confuse slightly.

Ask the vendor if that is what they mean. Then test it before configuring Cloverleaf(R) by using hcitcptest.

When I was with Memorial Herman, we had interfaces with Phillips.  All of the connections were set up on Cloverleaf to be “client”.  I’m sure this is what they are referring to.  As Jim pointed out, just set up your tcp connection on Cloverleaf and make the Cloverleaf side “client”.

      Thanks…
