I have an “MDM_T04” HL7 message that I am getting the following error message “The #4 segment encountered ‘OBX’ is out of order for the message type ‘MDM_T04’. Segment ignored”.

I searched and read the posts already on Clovertech and tried to make sure I have already addressed the issues that most commonly cause this.

      – I have made sure that I have all the segments in my inbound message defined in my variant (MSH, EVN, PID, PV1, TXA, OBX)

      – I have made sure the variant is defined and in the proper place.

      – I ran the inbound message through the HL7 tester and the message went through the tester just fine.

      – I went back into my inbound variant and made sure there were no fields marked as “required” on any of the segments.

      – I went in to “Reconfigure” and made sure I was using the correct variant.

Here is the actual error message:

      MESSAGE 1

[0:TEST] [mid:0x9bc3c4] The # 4 segment encountered ‘OBX’ is out of order for message type ‘MDM_T04’.  Segment ignored.

Please post a copy of the raw message you are working with and a snapshot of the variant.

              Ricci,

Your solution sounds like it might work for an issue I am currently having – care to share?

              Thanks
