We recently upgraded from version 5.2 to 5.5. What is the safest and cleanest way to remove the old 5.2 version? Also, for others who have upgraded how long did you keep your old version? Operating system is AIX 5.3. Thanks in advance!!
After a cloverleaf upgrade when I get ready to remove the old version of cloverelaf that I think I’m no longer using, I change the name of the directory by appending “_hide” to it.
For example
/quovadx/qdx5.2_hide
That way I find out if something is still accessing the old directories and have the option to unhide it real quick if necessary.
Eventually I might do a
rm -rf quovadx/qdx5.2_hide
after a cooling off period if I need the disk space.
Sometimes I keep one hidden version back in case I want to refer back to it for some reason.
