      Hello,

I am getting the following error with any process that I can start within my support environment:

      “Db_Vista database error -921: ‘SYSTEM/OS error: -921

      DBUSERID is already being used”

The processes hang and lock up. I have performed a clean up of the site, rebooted, and used the hcilmclear command as well. I am using v5.3 on Win 2003 machine.

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks

Thank you Gary for your response. I actually resolved the issue over the weekend. I found that I had a ‘vista.taf’ file in the root of the site directory. The cleanup instructions stated to remove the vista.taf file from the execdatabases directory, not mentioning that it may be present in other areas. Once I removed all occurrences of the vista.taf file, I was back in business. I still had the error with 2 processes, so I created new ones.

Interesting…. I’ve never remove the vista.taf file from the root directory when doing clean-up either.  Glad it worked out for you  8)

We also had this problem occur where the vista.taf got created in another directory than where it is typically.  We were not able to come back up until we deleted both copies of it.

Any ideas on why this occurs?  The support person just says that it happens sometimes. I am hoping it is fixed when we upgrade. We are currently on 5.3.

I have noticed this happening when you run keybuild command outside of the sites database directory.  You might want to look at your clean site script.  We cd to the sites database directory first before doing the following commands.

                  hcidbinit -ACf

                  keybuild rlog

                  keybuild elog

                  dchain rlog

                  dchain elog
