We are planning to replace our Cloverleaf server hardware with an IBM P505 entry server.  This is a small rack mountable server with limited expansion capability. However, with 4 cpu and upto 32gb memory this server could have 20x the power of our current F50.  If anyone is using this model or has experience with it, please give your opinion.

Mine didn’t come with any attached device to create “makesysb”‘s.

            That is not a problem.

            I have used the mkcd command (mkcd -R -S -L -e -I /dvdimage )

to create a mksysb image file.  Then I copy the mksysb image file to my pc and burn to a DVD.  I have booted and installed from this DVD.

Great, you’ve already taken care of the only gotcha I knew of. That is an inexpensive little workhorse, good luck.
