      (Cloverleaf 3.5.5 AIX 4.3.3)

      Has anyone seen this message?

I received this when I executed the ‘hcidbdump -r’ command.

The lock manager log is below and displayed no errors.

I am not too concerned as the site was processing messages OK and we have received no reports of any issues.

We are in the process of migrating to a new server/version, so I have left the DB as is.

      Any ideas?

      The log file is

      Lockmgr Named: lm_root3.5.5P_eds_prod_fh

      DBTMP directory: /hci/root3.5.5P/eds_prod_fh/exec/databases/

Lockmgr started at Wed Dec 21 12:16:01 2005

      Lock manager terminating……Done

Lockmgr ended at Thu Nov 16 10:01:53 2006

I am receiving the same error when I try to do a:

          hcidbdump -e /p

[0:TEST] Unable to read msg data chain

but have no problem with the recovery database:

          hcidbdump -r /p

Did you ever find out why this occured?

          Thank you, Ed.

You may receive this error if, after bringing down Lock Manager and Monitor Deamons, you did not search and delete the following: pid, wpid, cmd_port, from processes. Also, when Vista.taf is not removed from databases.

Those are the cases that we have experienced in the past.
