I am trying to put together a config. that will take all inbound ORU’s, read the trix ID, route it out the approiate thread to the foreign host,  duplicate all  the messages, and route them back an existing outbound thread to another host.  I know this can be done with a tcl proc, but can it be done with an xlate?

          Mark,

It sounds like you are making it more complicated than it needs to be.  Can you just add a second route for that trxId in the routes tab?

For that to work, as I understand the Route Message functionality, I would have to set up the new route with a trixid, and then insert that id into all the messages, overwriting the original trixid.  If that would work, you may have answered my question.  The basic strategy here is for all the ORU’s to go our their respective routes, then a duplicate of all these ORU’s sent to a single internal host.

I don’t think you need to change the trxId.  Just add the new route detail in the route messages tab under each of your current routes defined for the ORU trxIds.

Or use just one detail and route the message to both destinations.
