I’m reading Oracle database records via a UPOC protocol READ TPS and using msgcreate with the -recover option to create data messages from the database records.  I need to mark the database records as read so they are not read again on the next read interval.

I can do this in the READ TPS after the msgcreate, but am I correct that the message is not backed by the recover database at that point and only exists in memory?

Would it be a better practice to mark the database records as read in the I/B Pre-TPS?  I assume at that point the message has been backed by the recovery database?

I’d just like to mark the database records as read as close to the read as possible to prevent possible duplication.

      Thanks, Rick
