There are many alerts available on the Cloverleaf engine.  What I am interested in is what alerts are others using that have true value for some action to be taken.

I am trying to hone down the volume of alerts to the ones that say:

      1) When you get this. Please check if action is required.

      2) When you get this some action is required……

I would like to compile a list and the reasoning behind the alerts inregards to the value they hold…..Please share. We can all benefit from this.

I would even like to see a class that we can establish these alerts and what the follow-up action would be to correct the situation.  Maybe at the Users conferences??? I have already taken the Alerts webinar….

Hi Keith – If you’re attending the User Conference in Dallas next month, I’ll be doing a presentation on how we handle monitoring and alerting at Christiana Care Health System.

We developed relatively straightforward ksh scripts and tcl procs that reference table-based thread-specific parameters to configure scheduled downtime windows, maximum acceptable inbound feed inactivity duration, maximum acceptable outbound feed queue depth, selective recycling of stuck threads, and selective manual enabling/disabling of each thread

            Glenn,

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend the conference but I would be interested to know more about your alerting system. Do you actually use the built in alerts or is it all done via scripts and cron jobs?

            Regards

            Garry

Hi Garry – All done via scripts and cron jobs, external to Cloverleaf tools.

I can email you the powerpoint slide presentation from the Conference if you like.  Just email me at gfriedenreich@christianacare.org with your email address and I’ll be glad to send it.

              – Glenn
