Cannot bind port

Running 5.3 on AIX 5.1 and, when running a TCL script from the command line (first line of the script calls the hcitcl interpreter: #!/qvdx/qdx5.3/integrator/bin/hcitcl), this error appears:

cannot bind port : Address already in use

Sometimes it fills up a screen until, finally, the script starts to run. I’ve also noticed it in a cron job that we run overnight.

There is no TCP communication; it’s a simple batch script that reads and writes to files.

Might this have something to do with whatever port the TCL interpreter is using, if it does, in fact, use a port???

      Thanks for any help.

Do you use hcicmd in the script?  that and some other hci scripts use a port to communicate what it’s doing.  If you look at hcicmd, there’s a “-h” parameter for host and LOCALHOST is the default.
